Science Center

Most weeks we play with Riley and Allyn. We always have a blast. Last Friday we went to the Natural Science Center. Caden got to pet the Wallabies with Riley! We also got to see the gibbons, tigers and many more animals! We're really ready for spring. Here is Miss Addison in the stroller. She's not really old enough to enjoy the animals but she sure does like being outside! Brian and I are thankful that she is feeling much better. We've had a rough start to 2009. We know that God is good and this year will be a great year!!
Addison and Allyn in their strollers. Next year we'll be chasing them everywhere I'm sure.

Inside there is a big ship. Caden and Riley were talking back and forth on this pipe! They had fun!

Demon Deacons!

This past Sunday Caden and Brian went with my sister Mary and her boyfriend Patrick to the Wake game! They said Caden had a blast!! He loved the motorcycle of course. The next morning when I saw him he told me that the Demon Deacon needed pipes like him and his Grandaddy and that I should buy them! Here are a couple of pictures! Oh yea, Wake won. This is a VERY tired sweet boy!! This is what a no nap day looks like! Thank goodness we still nap!!!! I will try to turn the picture later! It looks like he's just about too big for that seat doesn't it????
By the way, Caden also had UNC gear...he's still deciding on a team. His Daddy pulls for Duke but no Duke gear yet...I'm sure we'll get there!

Daddy went back to work....

Brian's Dad passed away last Wednesday so Brian has been home for a week. I will let him blog more on that later this week. I'm sure he'll want to include some really great memories and pictures for Caden and Addison to have later on in life when they will hopefully read this blog.

Today was our first day just the 3 of us again! We actually had a really great day. It was about 70 degrees. Yes, 70 in February! Does it get any better than that? After breakfast we headed out for a nice walk to the horses that are in the next neighborhood. We also got to play outside for about an hour!! Here are a couple pictures of play time this morning!! Yes, this is Caden playing in my tub completely dressed with no water. He asked if he could and most days I would say no. However, with all the events of last week I didn't get to see him too much. I guess I was feeling a little guilty so I said, "of course." Afterall, no permanent damage can be done, right?? He had a BLAST!!!
Emma is exhausted. She was laying her watching Caden and Addison play as you will see in the next picture! She's never far from them! She's such a good dog. This past week Caden told her that she's the best dog in the world!

Caden and Addison had a fun time playing with each other. Addison has started to reach to touch people. She adores Caden. I'm sure she always will. It was very sweet to watch them play.
While we had a GREAT day today we sure did miss Daddy!!!!
Oh, Caden also got to go to the Wake game this past Sunday. I will post pictures and a cute story tomorrow!!

Sweet Sleepy Girl

My sweet little girl fell asleep this evening in her jumperoo. Now she's sleeping on her daddy. I'm hoping that tomorrow she will feel much better!

I know what can make her better....

Addison is still sick. She has RSV! This morning Caden asked me how we can make her better. My responded quickly with, "I don't know Caden." He simply looked at me and said, "I know Mommy, I will pray for her!" He then went over and put his hands on her head, thanked God for her and asked God to make her body better. This picture was a recreation but looks just like what he did when he went over and prayed for her. I wanted to enjoy the moment so I took this picture afterwards. When I pray with him at night I rub his hair so I think he might think that is what you do. I don't know. It was very sweet and one of my proudest Mommy moments!! We're still working on that God may take some time. He doesn't understand why she's not instantly better when he prayed for her! I guess we can all be a little impatient with God sometimes!!

My sick, sweet baby and birdfeeders!

I hate it when my babies are sick. I wish, pray and beg God to take it from them and just make me sick. My sweet girl is sick today! Brian and I took her to Brenners last night and she has RSV as well as a possible stomach bug! She has been in the position to see below since about two today! I'm not sure who's enjoying it more! As I look over there now...hours later...they're in the same position except his eyes are also closed! Yesterday was beautiful outside. So, we took advantage of it and played outside for a good portion of the day! Last week at school Caden made a bird feeder. We hung it yesterday! So far it doesn't look like any birds have eaten anything. Maybe I should go knock some seeds off before we get him back tomorrow. I miss this boy! We had planned on Caden spending the night last night at Mom and Dad's since Brian and I went out to eat with my sister and a friend. Since Addison is sick we've decided to leave him there until the morning. We're trying to avoid two sick children! I'll pick him up from school tomorrow and I can assure you I'll drive him nuts with wanting to hold him!

Baby Wearing and fun wih Daddy

This morning I decided to go shopping with my Mom and Dad. Brian and the kids were invited but Brian offered for me just to go to have a little "Mommy time" while he kept the kids. So...I gladly accepted. When I got home there were LOTS of toys out...I smiled! I love it when Brian gets the opportunity to just play with Caden and Addison. This is a gift that he has given me and the children so that I don't get to miss a minute. Often times on the weekends we head out early and run around town and do something fun. When we get home it's nap time. Very rarely do we just stay home on a Saturday and play! He got a glimpse into my day...while it's hard work it's a lot of fun!

Often when I go out with Caden and Addison by myself and the weather is decent I'll put Addison in her sling and Caden in the stroller. This week I found a great deal on a baby bijorn for Brian. Caden tried it out this morning with his doll Harlow... and yes...that's Addison he's got in the carrier!!

Looks like "Daddy days" are a lot of fun!!!! I sure did enjoy my morning out and even got the chance to utilize the shuttle service at the Honda dealership....now that's something you can't do with two carseats!!
