Happy Memorial Day

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Memorial Day. We sure did. Last night we took a trip to see Brian's Dad's headstone in Salisbury. I will post those pictures later this week so be sure to check back! Today we got up took our time getting ready and then went to the Battleground Park to walk with Mom and Zoey. This evening we went over to Mom's for some of Brian's AWESOME ribs! Here are some pictures of us playing outside before the rains came!

We even played a VERY short game of kickball...we need more people. Where are the girls when you need them??

Have I mentioned that in two months we'll be at my favorite place in the entire world??
THE BEACH! We can't wait!

Strawberries, Wagon Rides and Great times with Friends

Last week we went and picked strawberries with Riley and Allyn (Jenn came too!) We had a great time. Look closely at KK's shorts...it ALL came out...can you believe it! They were covered in strawberries! The girls!
Caden and Addison got to go on a wagon ride when I went to church last Sunday! Addison LOVED it!

Last Saturday we visited with some GREAT friends. This is Brandt, my friend Carrie's son. Carrie and I went to high school together but didn't really "hang out" together much. Then in about 2002 we reconnected through another friend and have been great friends since! I love that our boys are only 10 months apart and are finally playing together and our girls will be about 13 months apart! If only we lived a little closer!

Nap Time...

Today I had a loooooooooooong list of things to do while my sweet babies slept. That was until the mailman showed up with the clips I ordered so that I can try my hand at making bows. Wether it be good news or bad...I LOVE IT! The ones on the left are for Addison and the ones on the right are for her friend Allyn!
So instead of cleaning up today....looks like a made a bigger mess...off to more bow making before those sweet babies wake up!!

Why wait?

Tonight we went to Relay for Life, came home and Caden had a VERY special birthday card to make at the island! I offered him some icecream, which now thinking back on it I think he also had some at RFL! Anyways, Brian and I were sitting in the den...Brian was trying to fix my car seat I broke...oops...and I was...well...reading Carrie's blog post about traveling. Brian asked Caden if he was almost done with his icecream. So...I ask B, "Did you make Caden a bowl?" B replies, "no...I thought you did" This is what we found....

Looks like he got down, took the icecream off the other counter and climbed back up and began to eat! HA...of course we let him finish. Afterall, he is a VERY sweet boy. By the way, this sweet boy isn't wearing diapers anymore at night time. He refuses. Tonights only night 2 but last night he was dry. For about the past month most nights he was dry but he still wanted a diaper. I have my theories that he was just going in the diaper in the morning because he was too lazy to get out of bed! oh well....he'll only do that once without a diaper!

Make sure you scroll down...I got behind in blogging so I think there are 3 or 4 new posts down there! Enjoy!

Boone

I forogt to add this to the last one. Every graduation we take a traditional sister picture. Here's our silly one! The nice, adult one for mom's frame.

While we were in Boone we decided to take some pictures at a local park! It was GREAT fun! Caden being silly on the rocks! Addison...she was very excited to be sitting on the bench!

Caden and Addison. Maybe oneday we'll get one of them both smiling!

Family picture. Also, funny story. When we sat down I had on my sunglasses, Ray Bans of course. I didn't want them on my head so I decided I would just lay them in my lap. Smart, right? Well, we take the pictures. All is good. THEN, my sweet husband got Caden up on the grass and came back for Addison. He took her and I stood up. Then Jenn said what just dropped in the water?!?!? MY SUNGLASSES! I panic. Brian hands Addison back to me and begins to search. Finally he found them between two rocks in this little babbling creek! Brian saved the day....and himself $100!

CONGRATS, J!

Last weekend Jennifer graduated from App State! We all headed up Friday and spent the night and had a GREAT time hanging out in Boone. Jenn is now on the job hunt! Not a fun task in this economy with about a million other business grads...okay maybe not a million but she sure does feel like she's competing with that many grads! Jenn, Caden and Addison!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY!!

Today is Mary's birthday...that means my birthday is in just under 3 months. Growing up Mary heard a million times that she couldn't do something I was doing because I was three years older. Mary responded a million times with, "She's not 3 years older than me...she's 2 years..9 months..and 5 days older than me!" We headed to Winston tonight and ate at the Tavern in Old Salem. We got a few pictures. Just before Brian was going to take pictures with Mary and Caden the battery died! We'll be able to catch some more this weekend as we're headed to Boone for Jennifer's graduation! Caden and Addison in their sweet matching outfits!
Addison, Emma and Caden. Caden was really excited because I was making all kinds of crazy faces trying to get Addison to smile. It didn't work but he loved it!

Dad, Mom and Addison on the porch at the Tavern.

Caden and Addison on the brick sidewalk! She just adores him!

A little blurry but I love how excited she was!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY!!!!

We've been busy!

We have been very busy this week. Caden finished up swimming lessons. In fact for his last lesson he convinced Jennifer to drive two hours home just to take him. I'm sure it helped that she wasn't going to get to see Jeremy for two weeks. So she got to see her 2 favorite boys and her favorite girl! She headed back this morning for one of her last presentations! We are VERY excited that she will be graduating next weekend!

Yesterday my Grandma arrived for a 10 or so day visit! We are VERY excited! Yesterday we picked her up from the airport and hung out until Mom got off work! This morning she wanted to go to Dillards. So Caden, Addison and I picked her up at 10 and headed to the mall...strolled Dillards and then headed to Friendly. She has MUCH better shopping than us up in DC but still enjoys some stores they don't have! For lunch she took us to BRAVO! After lunch I'm not sure who was more exhausted the kids, her or I. Well, the kids are now napping, she is out with mom and I am ignoring the laundry that needs to be folded and am relaxing!

I am not sure what we have in store for next week. I do know that Caden has "bike" day on Monday so we will be loading up the bike for school! Wednesday I am looking forward to the Mother's Day tea he invited me to! There is talk about us heading to Chapel Hill on Tuesday.

Enjoy the weekend. I hope the weather is nice here so that we can head to Caden's soccer game and then play outside for hours!
