Vacation Bible School

This week is Vacation Bible School. For the kick off we got a couple ponies and a jumping house! The kids LOVED it! Caden insisted on wearing his cowboy boots. I LOVED IT!!

Okay...just noticed that the pony doesn't look happy but really it was great! Addison LOVED it!! I need to find another picture of her actually riding. I'll leave this one though since it's so funny!!

Sweetest cowboy in town!!

If Caden does it...you know Ad will want to do it too...and will probably try to beat him! She is so independent and I love it! The boots were no exception!
Addison has started talking a lot! I feel sure that I'm just about the only one that can understand her but I don't mind! She is really cute about wanting us all to be together. When Brian's at work she's constant with, "I waaaaant Daddy." If I leave she says, "I waaaaaant Mommy." On father's day when Brian and Caden left for the movies she stood at the door and kept saying, "I waaaaaant Daddy nuhnuh." (Nuh is what she calls Caden!)

**blogger is acting up and won't let me add the sweet picture of this cowgirl on a horse! I will try again later!**

Water Fight....

Today Brian, Caden and I had an impromptu water balloon fight! (Addison woke up at the very end when we decided we should take some pictures!) It was so fun! We were all soaked...but no one cared!!!

She looks like she hated it but she was laughing. We gave her one to throw and she held onto that thing for over 30 minutes. We kept asking her if she wanted to throw it at Daddy and she'd say, "no". We went through everyone and she was persistent. Eventually she accidently dropped it!

Daddy trying to convince her to throw it at Mommy. Sorry about the haze...I accidently sprayed the camera when I was trying to fill a balloon! ooops

We had a BLAST!!
(Caden wants to get the cousins and Grandma at the beach....oh and Aunt Lindsey...consider this your warning.)

It's Summer Time...

we've been busy at the pool! (I will try to get some pictures this week!) Caden and Addison are going to summer days on Mondays and Wednesdays this month. They're having a blast! They moved Addison up to the 2's...oh my! However, each time her old teacher goes in she tries to join them.

We've also been busy painting...okay Brian has been busy painting! I just hang out. Really, I have learned to paint but hate it so I'll leave that up to him!

We are looking forward to a great summer!

Really?

Just now caden said "addison you can't covet my toys!"  I look at him and ask if he's serious and he replied, "yes, the Bible says not to covet and she wants my toys...that's wrong."  I said, "caden you can share but you are correct we shouldn't covet other peoples things."  He's too smart!

These have to be the best days!

Yesterday Addison had a fever. So today I decided we should skip the pool and stay home and play....and clean the house! We've played, I've cleaned, done what feels like a million load of towels, and play a little more! Caden even got a little time on my phone....
all while we watched this great movie together! Can you guess which movie it is? We watched it a million times as kids! Although...not in HD!

oh...if you're asking yourself if they're still in their jammies...well...you're correct! They said they didn't want to get dressed and I didn't make them! That's what makes stay at home days so great! Tomorrow they're looking forward to a fun morning at summer camp at First Baptist...followed by a full day at the pool Saturday!

He Humbled Me...Again!

Have you heard of Silly Bandz? Well...if you haven't they're these cute little rubberbands that are shaped like different things. They are super trendy right now. You wear them on your wrist. All kids love them including Brian's middle schoolers. Anyways....this weekend Caden asked for some at Toys and Co. So I agreed to buy them! He chose glow in the dark cars and trucks. The trend is to also trade them. I noticed some kids trading them in Cadens class last week so I warned him and told him that it was totally up to him. Today, he wore his 7 Silly Bandz to school. When I picked him up...he had ONE! I said to him, "Caden what happened to all of your silly bandz?" His response, "I gave them to my friends." Confused I let it go until we got in the car. When we got in the car I asked him why he didn't trade. (Honestly....I was irritated that I just spent $5 on 12 rubberbands and he gave away 6 of them.) He responded simply that some of his friends didn't have them and he wanted to give them to them. I asked him why he didn't trade with the ones that did have some bandz. Again, he responds with because I didn't need one back.

He then put his thumb in his mouth a fell right asleep. I thought about our exchange the whole way home (in the quiet car!!!!!). My irritation has turned to pride. My sweet boy gave to those that didn't have as well as those who did have what he had. He expected NOTHING in return! How often do I give my time, talents and possessions and expect something in return?

Now, I'm off to wake that sweet boy up so he'll sleep tonight! I hope you can learn from his selflessness today as much I did!

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
