Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Once upon a time...

we made sure we took a picture of the four of us! These are our friends Chris and Carrie. Carrie and I were friends through friends in high school when we moved to Greensboro. After highschool we lost touch until a good friend of ours, Cassie, invited me to Boone for the weekend! Carrie and Cassie lived together with another long lost friend from college Julie! From that weekend on Carrie and I have been best friends along with Brian and Chris. We love hanging out with them and wish we could more often.

For a couple of years it was just the four of us...then Caden was born...9 months later Brandt was born...then Addison and this week Highland.

We went down to Charlotte to see this sweet family...but as time has moved on we no longer take pictures of the 4 of us...instead we make sure we get a picture of the 4 of them! We have all enjoyed watching our boys become friends as they've gotten older. Just yesterday Carrie and I were saying how much we love hearing the boys have conversations as they were playing up in Brandt's room and we were listening...and giggling...to their conversations! I can't wait till these two sweet girls are doing the same thing! Welcome Highland! We love you!

Addison...

Got tubes today and did great! Doesn't she look precious in her "scrubs" they gave her to wear?? We can already tell a difference in her hearing!! She is back to normal today...but she did take 2 2-hour naps!!!

Pray for this sweet girl in the morning as she gets tubes!!

Bunk beds

Look who's going to give the top bunk a try....I bet it doesn't last 10 minutes but he sure does think he's very cool!

**update** I was totally right! As soon as Brian was done reading to him I heard him say that maybe he should sleep down on the bottom...where it is safe!

Nap??

NOT this sweet boy! No way...no how! Even when I think he's exhausted...I'll put him in bed...tell him I'll be back in 15 minutes and EVERYTIME he's wide awake! So, we've started quiet time. He can play in his room or the playroom after his 15 minutes in bed. The up side? He goes right to sleep at 7:15 instead of laying in bed from 8 until he finally fell asleep at 10. He really is good about staying in his room too!! I do have to say that I am VERY thankful that he was such a good napper for the first 3 and a half years!

First Day of School

I can hardly believe this sweet boy started three year old preschool this year! This year he will be at First Baptist and will be in school Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9am to 1pm! I sure will miss him! He said he missed me today but only after he said, "Mommy, I had a blast school was a lot of fun!" That was exactly what I wanted to hear!
So...what will Addison and I be up to while Caden's at school? Well...a lot actually! On Mondays Addison will hang out all morning with Jennifer while I work at the church. Wednesdays I am participating in a Beth Moore Bible study! On Fridays Addison and I will take it easy...maybe run to the gym or come home to play!

Happy 1st Birthday Addison!

Addison, We love you so much! It has been a QUICK year but a wonderful year! You are absolutely the sweetest girl! I could just eat you up! Here are a few pictures to highlight your first year! We waited and waited for you to come but when you did you came quick! I only pushed 4 times for a total of 3 minutes and you were hear crying...little did we know you would soon earn the nickname "scream"!

I fell absolutely head over heels in love with you the moment I saw you...everyone did! You had that Daddy of yours wrapped around that sweet little finger of yours from moment he laid eyes on you!

We made a promise to you and to God that we would raise you to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior and I pray daily that you will when the time is right!

So sweet!

December was a busy month. A couple of days after Christmas we headed to Mimi and PopPop's house in Florida! You had a great time! We look some pictures in a garden and you loved it!

This is Christmas morning! Santa brought you this ADORABLE stroller. You look so small in it then!

February 4th your Grandpa passed away! Let me tell you...he ADORED you...everything about you! I'm sad you won't know him better but I want you to know that he loved you...A LOT!

When Grandpa passed away you got to meet his side of the family! They just adored you to...everyone does!

In March it snowed so I took you out and bundled you up with me to keep you warm...infact when we came in you were hot! You didn't like it much but I know this year you will!

In May we headed to the zoo! Everywhere we go people tell me how gorgeous you are! They're right...if they only knew how sweet you are too!

You made your first trip to the Outer Banks! You LOVED everything about the beach! You also learned to crawl this week! Once you learned to crawl you were and still are everywhere!

I love this picture of Great Grandma with all her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!
Oh Addison, the things I want to teach you! I can't wait to continue to tell you how much Jesus loves you and how you were fearfully and wonderfully made just for us! What a precious gift you are! I'm thankful that I'm your Mommy and I hope one day when you're all grown up that we'll be best friends! I wish I could slow time down! While I can't wait to see the great things you'll do...I'm just loving watching you grow! Mommy, Daddy and Caden just adore and love you more than words can express...everyone does!
