Thankful Thursdays...

I just saw on another blog that she does "thankful thursdays" and lists 5 things she's truely thankful for. I think I'll give it a try this week...we certainly have enough things to be thankful for!! We had a great weekend. Yesterday we went out in search of a swingset for Caden...we did find one. However, Caden is SCARED of the swings...yep...."I'm afraid Mommy!" So...the goal for this week is to take him to the park several times to see if this is just a thing he'll get past. We are no hurry to spend money on something that he won't use! Oh yea...our air conditioning is now broken. We went to dinner last night at Lucky 32...yummy! Today was church, lunch, Brian and Caden helped some good friends of ours with some cabinets and then nap and back to church! Check back Tuesday for some great pictures. Mary and I are going to take the kids to the Children's Museum Tuesday!

SNOW!

Today we got a couple inches of snow! This is Caden and Addisons first BIG snow! I'm not sure who had more fun Brian or Caden. They've been outside all morning. Addison and I have gone out briefly twice! Here is Brian about to "show" Caden how you can sled down the HUGE hill in our back yard. I knew this hill would come in handy eventually!! Brian asked Caden to go with him but Caden said that he would stand there and watch him.

Caden, Addison and I on the sled. Brian pulled us around the yard. Yes, Addison is inside the jacket. I put her in her sling with her coat, hat, and mittens on and then put Brian's jacket on over us. When we got back in her body will still warm...almost sweaty...so I guess it worked!

Yes, once again we have Berico at our house. Everytime it snows our heater breaks. Luckily, Berico is very quick. We're also lucky that the upstairs heater is working. The downstairs isn't bad....65 degrees.

I just looked out the window and it looks like Caden has decided that our hill is a good idea afterall!!!! I hope you've enjoyed the snow as much as we have!!! What did you do today??

Baby Norie and Snow

Today we went to a baby shower for a great friend of mine. Lynn and Don are expecting Norie in May...maybe sooner! We had a GREAT time and wish we could have stayed longer. However, with the snow coming and Addison needing to eat we left before the roads got bad. Mom and Dad kept Addison since she has had a cold and didn't get a nap today. However, Caden had a great time with Brandt and Lily Faye! Lily Faye turns 1 this month. However, Caden still thought it was his responsibility to hold her up. She let him and they were all 3 happy!! I met Lynn, Julie, Cassie, Kimberly and Carrie my senior year of high school. Who knew most of us would have kids and still be great friends 9 years later!! The whole group!

Dinner Time??

When Caden started food he sat in his highchair every night...he ate when we ate...and was NEVER held at the table. Addison is a whole nother story! Addison eats when I get a second during dinner time, she has only sat in the highchair a couple of times...never to eat, and is ALWAYS held by her Daddy during dinner. Last night Caden sat, yes sat, on the table and fed Addison cereal and peas. It was her first taste of anything other than cereal and she actually liked it! Don't worry Brian was right there with them!! They had fun...she ate, and they were both a mess!!

You might be wondering what exactly Addison is sitting in. It's her Bumbo seat. Yes, I am aware that the "warning" on it says NEVER to place it on a table to feed your child in...but it's perfect! oh yea, while Addison is allowed to eat sitting on the table her brother is not. This is not a practice everyone in our house follows. Just Addison!

In other news, Mom told me that Dr. Dobson is retiring. This might be a problem as I already have a VERY strongwilled baby. Doesn't he know that I'm going to need him in a few year...or maybe next week????? *sigh*

Good news...Bad news

Good news first? Addison has not given up naps.

Now for the bad news...Addison has all that viral yuckiness that is going around. It should run its course in about a week! Until then...we'll just do what works. Right now she is sleeping in her carseat!

Naps??

I am convinced that Addison has given up naps. Yesterday she slept for 45 minutes total. Today about an hour. I looked it up at 6 months she should be sleeping 12 hours at night. (check.) 2 hours in the morning. (Are you kidding me? It's a GREAT day if she sleeps for 30 minutes!) They also said she should be sleeping 2 more hours in the afternoon! (Again...jokes on me. I am lucky to get an hour out of her!) I guess she just can't get enough of me!! Here's to hoping it's because she is congested and has another cough!!

However, Caden still takes 2 to 2 1/2 hour naps EVERDAY!! Figure that one out!

Is it Yummy??

Addison will be 6 months old next week. Hard to believe isn't it?? When I was in school I learned that a baby could live on just breastmilk for 6 months with no food. This was before I was a mother. I thought to myself...really, who would do THAT to their baby??? Well...this is Addison getting her first tastes of food one week before she turns 6 months old! Check out those blue eyes! I love it! She made a huge mess but I think she liked it. Welcome to the world of yummy food Addison!!
